After studying Geography - a clue to the company name - I qualified as an accountant and then did a further two years of corporate finance due diligence and advisory work. I then spent 15+ years in equity research focusing on the retail sector with a specialism in European food retail. For over a decade I was consistently one of the top-ranked analysts with investors and corporates, known for my sector-knowledge, strategic perspective, financial rigour and an objective but personable approach.

In 2016 I set-up 51.5 Degrees North and have advised Boards, managements and investors of public and private retail and consumer companies - from early-stage to multinational - on strategy, M&A, financials, operations, and communication. I have also set-up a 'club' of entrepreneurs, executives and investors expert in the sector to back - with industry-insights as well as capital - digitally and socially relevant, consumer-facing companies, primarily food-related.
